While this may sound obvious, a lot of people\nget nervous about asking for quotes and go with the first one they get as long\nas it\u2019s not too awful. Shop around! Did you know that you can make big savings by buying pieces of furniture that have been on display? Ask around at your local furniture warehouse. If you\u2019re taking down old tiles or taking apart old shelving, can you use the materials elsewhere? This approach can save you a great deal and may work even if part of the material is damaged. Be organised with waste<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Getting rid of old materials that are in no\ncondition to be recovered can be a big expense \u2013 especially if you do it bit by\nbit. Check your local council\u2019s bulk uplift policy. Often there\u2019s a flat fee\nfor removing a set number of large items. Others can be broken up for disposal\nin bin bags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Know your limits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Trying to make savings by doing it yourself?\nThis is a great idea, and all the educational videos online mean it\u2019s easy to get\nadvice, but try to avoid being too ambitious. If you mess up, it could end up\ncosting you more than getting somebody else to do the job in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking these simple things into account will\nhelp you to get through your renovation with a lot less expense \u2013 and potentially\nsave you quite a bit of money along the way. The key is careful planning and\nattention to detail throughout. Don\u2019t miss out on opportunities to save just\nbecause you\u2019re in a hurry to get it over with.
