Look guys Mr Shapps has a great catch phrase which seems to work for him ‘we will scrap HIPs’ nevermind the detail as you will only find this out if they win the election.

Bruce Forsyth will change his catch phrases before you are given information on their true intentions.

Simon are you really serious that you think our industry will self regulate or that the Law Society will make the buying or selling easier.

Now tell me, if it is true that HIPs are preventing people coming to the market what is going to happen when we say yes you can pay for a HIP now or wait 2 mths until the election as they will be scrapped.

Mark my words, many agents businesses will get scrapped at the same time as HIPs.

I am an estate agent and have been working with HIPS for a long time now.It is wrong to pretend that the Conservatives are unclear as to what will happen should they be elected.They will scrap HIPS (within a hundred days)and replace it with nothing,unless the industry wants to come up with an alternative itself.That seems clear ,fair and sensible to me!

Lets hope Grant Shapps stays in housing and doesnt move to health or something. What would he do, remove food labelling,get rid of health and safety advice on products.

What is his problem with upfront information being provided about the most expensive purchase of our lives. Just because something is not perfect is no reason to kill it. But then again, what are there thoughts on fox hunting.

HIPs are a waste of space, nevermind the bigger picture they need to be scrapped. We had a HIP on our house, nowhere did it say it was made of gingerbread, can you believe it.

It will be interesting to read Grant shapps responses definately. I am no great lover of HIPs but am afraid that when they are scrapped or modified it is going to have a detrimental affect on my business. We are still only selling half the number of properties per month we would normally, if normal still exists.

I would agree it is now wearing a bit thin, the same old lines, conservatives will scrap etc, people are now seeing the issues that this presents. I would of liked a different system but dont want HIPs being removed bringing my agency to an end.
